If I draw in automation first meaning creating the line data
is there a way to apply that to any audio clip afterward so now the automation line data now control that audio clip?
Yes, you can highlight the automation by dragging a box over it and it goes from yellow to white (meaning its selected) and then press command + c to copy and then go to the track you want - you might need to make sure the track header is selected, press A and paste in your automation curves with command + V.
